2025-12-20: Christmas Race: the wind does not appear in Palamós

The 350 regatists were waiting on the ground until 1430 hours the day was officially cancelled.
Sail is a sport that depends 100% on weather, sea and wind. This is what happened on the first day of the forty-first edition of the Palamós Christmas Race, in which the fleet could not be made to the sea due to the total absence of wind. At 1430 hours, the AP flag of deferral over A, which indicated the end of the day, was set up, and the crews began to disassemble their vessels.
The day began with the cloudy sky and during the morning there were intermittent blanks; the last one, the one with the greatest intensity after the 14 hours and which was final, and after permanent communication with the two Regata Committees that were on the high seas and that were giving soft breezes that were barely reaching the 5 knots, it caused the PRO of the race, Carlos Palomares, to end the day before the visos that no more wind would enter and the fact that they could not be given out until an hour before the sunset, scheduled for 17.18 hours.
With a view to the second day of the 49 Palamós Christmas Race, the forecast is that it will be with an unstable wind from the southeast between 4 and 7 knots and a day of chubascos will be repeated.
