The Spanish pre-Olympic sailing team continues its progression in the 470 Joint European Championship that is disputed in the waters of the Portuguese Algarve, in Vilamoura. After the second day of competition and with the now finished qualifying series, Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona break into the third square of the provisional podium. His companions Silvia Mas and Alejandro de Maqua are ten European seconds and thirteenth absolute.
The day of this Tuesday has been marked by variable conditions and technical sleeves, with wind from the north-north that forced to sail in a demanding race field, with many changes of board and a shorter than usual race, of about 40 minutes duration.
One of lime and one of sand for continental title defenders and current world champions, Jordi Xammar (RCN Barcelona) and Marta Cardona (CN Arenal). In the first manga of the day Jordi and Marta signed a brilliant second place, staying just a few seconds from the triumph. They sailed with a speed peak of more than 11 knots, although in the second test of the day they ended in the 21st position, a result that they discard, allowing them not to suffer too much that position, for the time being, and to ascend two posts on the table.

The other crew of the pre-Olympic team in Vilamoura, that formed by Silvia Mas (CN Arenal) and Alejandro "Tano" of Maqua (CN El Balís), is now twelfth of the European and 13th in the absolute, after some 9- (UFD) partials.
With the gold four points away from the Spanish and the silver two, the provisional leadership of the championship is maintained by the Italians Giacomo Ferrari and Alessandra Dubbini, followed by the British Martin Wrigley and Bettine Harris.
