Spanish Optimist Championship in Getxo the main rain

The rain was the protagonist of the second, almost winter, day of the Optimist Spanish Championship that is held until Saturday in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra. The 155 regatists from 11 communities participating in this event, divided into the yellow and blue groups, completed two more tours to the three of the inaugural day.
After the five tests established by the Committee, in Optimist Sub-16 male, the first five are Daniel Capa, from Club Néutic S'Estanyol, Stijn Oosterhaven, from Club Néutic S'Arenal, Jorge Benitez, from Real Club Néutic Port de Pollença, Izan Rogel, from Club Náutico de Torrevieja and Nicolás Bastard, from Real Club Marítimo del Abra- Real Sporting Club.
In the female category Sub-16, the top five initial are, after the second day, Valentina Belso, from the Real Nautical Club of Torrevieja, María de Lluc from the Real Nautical Club of Palma, Clara Camps from the Nautic Club El Balís, Mary-Anne Osha Pérez and Emma Frau, also from the Real Nautical Club of Palma.

This 2026 Spanish Championship of the International Optimist Class, which continues on Friday with the third day and less difficult forecasts, is organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club by delegation of the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela, in collaboration with the Vasca and Vizcana de Vela Federations and the Spanish Association of the International Optimist Class (AECIO), Kirolur, Getxo City Council, as well as with the support of the Bizkaia Bridge, Coca Cola, San Juan de Dios Hospital and BCD Meeting and Events (José Capetillo).
Already in Sub13, the first five are Ángel Manuel Hernández, from the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, Toni Rivas, from the Club Náutic Garraf, Hugo Sarmiento, Club de Mar Almería, Damia Galcera, from the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and Conor Woods, from the Club Náutico Jávea.
And among the girls Sub- 13 lead the Lola Carrión classification, the Real Club Náutico Arrecife, Alexia Sotomayor, the Club Níutic Vilassar de Mar, Nicole Douglas, the Club Náutico Jávea, Almudena Basterra, the Real Club Náutico Valencia and Aina Sánchez, the Club Níutic S'Arenal.
